We are pleased to announce that we are organizing the 4th“International Workshop on Regional, Urban, and Spatial Economics in China” with the theme of “China’s New Urbanization and Housing Market” on6-7 June, 2015at Hang Lung Center for Real Estate, Tsinghua University in Beijing, China. The objective of this workshop is to increase the visibility of regional, urban, spatial and housing economics in China and to develop a stronger research network for top level international and Chinese scholars.

Topics:

We welcome submissions on any research issues related this theme in China including the following topics:

Urbanization and urban development

Urbanization and housing market Housing supply, demand and prices

Land and real estate economics

Labor market and inter-regional, rural-urban migration

Agglomeration and New Economic Geography

Urban transportation

Environmental and sustainable development

Papers enriching the understanding of urban, regional, spatial and housing economics in China

Editors withJournal of Regional Science, Papers in Regional Science, Real Estate Economics, Annals of Regional Science, Growth and Change, Letters in Spatial and Resource Scienceswill also generally welcome other submissions that fit those journals. Those papers would be treated as general submissions by those journals.

Submission:

For those who are interested in presenting a paper in the workshop, please submit a draft of a paper or an abstract (paper draft preferred), in English, toruse_housing_2015@163.comby1 February 2015.Notification of acceptance will be sent out by1 March 2015and a complete paper is expected by1 May 2015.

The workshop will bring together about 40 participants from China and abroad.Each presentation will be about 30 minutes in length with time for questions and discussions to provide constructive feedback for presenters.There will also be opportunities for authors, editors and scholars to interact, network and explore the possibility of developing joint research. TheJournal of Housing Economicswill run aspecial issuefor this workshop. All papers submitted to the workshop will be considered for the special issue, and a selected number of such papers will receive invitations for submission to the special issue. These submissions will go through the normal anonymous review process.

Registration:

There is no registration fee for attending the conference, while the participants need to pay their own cost of accommodation and transportation.
