Present and Future of China Housing Market Forum:

Call for papers

Management World & China Household Finance Survey

What is the current stateof China housing market? Has China’s housing market been pushed to a tipping point? Will housing demand continue to push housing price to go up or is the housing market experiencing a supply glut? What is the urban housing vacancy rate? What is the impact of housing tax on housing market and the trend of China real estate industry? The Research Institute of Economics and Management (RIEM) at Southwestern University of Finance and Economics, Survey and Research Center for China Household Finance and the Journal ofManagement Worldwill jointly hold a research forum onPresent and Future of China Housing Marketon August 2 and 3 at Chengdu. Experts and scholars will exchange their opinions and have an in-depth discussion on related topics. Many influential media will also join and report the forum. The forum will consist of theme speech, keynote speech, roundtable discussion and concurrent essay sessions.You are warmly welcomed to offer submissions or organize concurrent sessions.

Please ensure that your essay complies with theManagement Worldwriting instructions. Both Chinese and English papers are accepted. Submitted essay should at least include title and abstract with less than 400 words (including JET code and keywords). Papers with abstract and main body will be considered first.

All papers (abstract and main body) should be submitted by July 15, 2014 toriem.forum@gmail.comin electronic PDF form. Submitted papers will be reviewed by forum organizers and experts.

Authors whose papers are selected will be invited to participate in the forum and get the invitation by July 20. Paper contributors will get the notice by July 20 no matter their papers are selected or not.

The forum does not charge a registration fee. Forum participants will be responsible for their own travel expenses. Accommodations will be provided by the forum organizers. Outstanding papers will be recommended to be edited inManagement World.

The Research Institute of Economics and Management (RIEM) at SWUFE was established in 2006. Dedicated to high-quality teaching and research in economics, finance, and management, RIEM’s goal is to become an internationally-acknowledged research center as well as a leading Chinese think tank. Currently, there are about 50 full-time professors and associate professors who obtained their PhD from Harvard University, University of California at Berkeley and other well-established universities all over the world.

One of RIEM’s research centers, the Survey and Research Center for China Household Finance has conducted China Household Finance Survey (CHFS) and established the first micro-finance database of China. The database contains micro-data from over 28,000 households which has representativeness at national and provincial level. CHFS collected detailed information of China households’ asset and liability, income and expenditure, social insurance and welfare and other micro information. It tracks the dynamic and timely information on household financial behavior, and fills in the blank of household micro-finance fields in China. The research of household asset allocation, income distribution, credit availability of household and SMEs, housing market supply and demand, urbanization based on CHFS have attracted extensive attention from government, academic and society. We welcome all researchers study China economics using CHFS data.
