报告人简介：Prof.Erwin Bulte is the chair professor of the Development Economics Group at Wageningen University & Research. He is an elected member of the Royal Dutch Academy of Arts and Sciences. He is a development economist who studies the relationship between institutions and economic growth based on large-scale experiments in Africa and Asia. He and his research team investigated the relationship between violence, altruism and economic growth in Burundi, which has been torn apart by civil war. In rural Sierra Leone and Liberia, he studied the influence of local government and corruption on the effectiveness of development aid and the investment decisions of villagers. He is also professor of Institutions and Development at Utrecht University, and fellow of the Department of Land Economy (University of Cambridge) and The Oxford Center for the Analysis of Resource Rich Economies (OxCarre, Oxford University).
